In Detail

To equip your application with a complete measurement, system several components are required. We offer a complete solution respectively the whole measurement chain in our modular product range – preconfigured and optimized in price and value. Of course all components can be adjusted to your individual needs. Our team is more than happy to help any time via phone or mail.

In the field angles can be measured in a range from 0° ... 360°. If the protractor is fixed to a rotating element, the range repeats. The spin velocitiy of an angle is usually changing slow and can be recorded by measuring the time. The resolution of the angle measure lies mostly in the range of angle degree to angle second.

a) Sensors based on potentiometers do have a wiper on the resisitance that has got a constant voltage applied. They directly deliver a output voltage that is linearly depending in the angle. The disadvantage is the wearout through the friction of the wiper.

b) Using a inductive sensor, the induction of the choke changes. There are two options of measuring: for one the metal object is moved without being touched or it is moved through a probe in a metal core within in the choke. The rotational variable differential transformer has got a movable core that influences the coupling factor by two secondary chokes.

c) The incremental rotary encoder has got a periodic measuring standard (line on glas, metal, magnetising on magnetic tape). The sensor head is lead passed it and puts out signals, that are being counted forwards and backwards in the evaluation electrics. It just measures the difference to the position after switching on. Absolute encoders do have multiple tracks and instantly show the absolute position.
